Lino's has been established now for 15 years and boasts a discerning regular clientele. If you are looking for good food prepared with fresh ingredients, served by professionals, in elegant surroundings, then Lino's is the place for you. The continental flavour of the menu comes
from Chef Enrico's Italian background and his travels throughout France
and Switzerland. The menu has a musical theme with the Prelude (starters), such as the three cheese and onion Tartlet with a roasted red pepper coulis and Ducks livers sautéed with balsamic vinegar and finished with créme Fraiche. An Intermezzo (middle course) which is free of charge as long as each individual has a Prelude is then served, there is a choice of soup du jour, a pasta and a baked egg dish.

Then you have Symphony (Main courses) including Duckling with roasted garlic and kumquat piquant sauce and griddled fillet of Sea Bass on red cabbage with a Pernod, Cream and Tarragon sauce. The Finale (Desserts) are all Home-made and on most nights there is a choice of at least 10, from Créme brulee and lemon posset to Chocolate Nemesis with a coffee-bean créme anglaise and a Bacardi Pannacotta with a fruit coulis. Lino's famous 4 course lunches, Tuesday to Friday are well worthy of a visit. They also inform me that as well as being voted Essence Magazine Restaurant of the year for 1999/00, Lino's has become the only Wirral Restaurant to be included in the Harden's Top UK Restaurant Good Food Guide 2000. |
While Enrico looks after the Kitchen, Nigel and Ian's expertise front of the house which has been honed over many years in various quality establishments throughout the Wirral and North West, finally finding their niche at Lino's. Nigel is a member of the UK Bartenders guild for 21 years and a self confessed "Wine-freak". Customers will always be made to feel special under his watchful eye. Established 1983
